3rd Cherokee Lesson.

(Work in progress)

Sets A and B pronoun prefixes.

1. Hear
    a. ᎦᏛᎩᎠ : gahtvgia : I hear it (Inanimate object)
    b. ᏥᏯᏛᎩᎠ : tsiyahtvgia : I hear it (Animate object)
    c. ᎠᏆᏛᎪᏅᎢ : agwahtvgonvi : I heard it (Inanimate object)
    d. ᎠᏆᏛᎪᏅᎢ : agwahtvgonvi : I heard it (Animate object)
    e. ᎠᎩᏯᏛᎪᏅᎢ : agiyahtvgonvi : I heard it (Animate object)

Both d and e can mean the same thing, but e is the common form.
When the verb begins with a vowel, then agiy- or tsiy- is used when there is an animate object, else g- or agw- is used.

2. See
    a. ᏥᎪᏘᎠ : tsigohtia : I see it (In.)
    b. ᏥᎪᏘᎠ : tsigohtia : I see it (An.)
    c. ᎠᎩᎪᎲᎢ : agigohvi : I saw it (In.)
    d. ᎠᎩᎪᎲᎢ : agigohvi : I saw it (An.)

Since the verb does not begin with a vowel, tsi- and agi- are used.

Test your understanding of the pronouns so far.

A. ᏥᏬᏂᎠ : tsiwonia : I am speaking
What pronoun prefix would you use to say "I spoke"?

B. ᎠᏆᏓᏅᏖᏢᎢ : agwadahntetlvi : I thought
What pronoun prefix would you use to say "I am thinking"?
