awesome... I was hoping somebody would come along that knew a bit about this lang as it's always seemed pretty neat to me.  You should write some stuff for it on the wiki if you haven't already Big Grin

You can read the Help:How_toW page first. It might be a bit out of date or unclear, but if any further questions or issues arrive, let us know and we can help Smile

It's great to see a speaker of a non mainstream language around here Smile

So you asked, and I'll answer, nicnequiz "more" (If I remember correctly, nicnequiz = I will want it, but I could be wrong.  Been a long time since I've looked at Nahuatl).

For the first Nahuatl question for you, Wink, does -tzin/-tzintzin/-tzitzin get added to proper names as well as possessives? Such as Nonantzin.  Therefore, should we use Motanztzitzin when speaking directly to you, Wink.

Yeah... achi nicnequiz :: I will want more of it  Coffee Grin

tzintzin :: relevant, important

The ending -tzin is used for reverentials and affection, depending on context. And it is used with proper names and possessives the same way.
-tzin for singular
-tzitzin for plural

tōnantzin :: our beloved/sacred mother
miztōntzitzin :: beloved/sacred cats

About my name, could be Motahtzin, but it would be "your beloved/sacred father" in English, so... as you prefer. Let's keep motanz.  Wink

I've found that one of the quickest and easiest ways to start working on the wiki is to just browse around and find a page with a layout similar to something you'd like to do then simply view the source for it and figure out what's going on with it, then you can use this as a rubric for your own pages  Coffee Grin

Here is a song called Icnocuicatl by mexican singer Lila Downs.
The lyrics are from a poem of the same name, written by Natalio Hernández
Don't know how to insert youtube videos  Angry

Icnocuicatl
Moztla...
Queman nehuatl nionmīquiz,
Ahmo ca ma xīmocuezo;
Nicān...
Occēpa nicān nionhualaz,
Cualtzin huitzitzilin nimocuepaz.

Cihuātzin...
Queman ticonītaz tōnatiuh,
Ica mōyōllo xīonpaqui;
Ōmpa...
Ōmpa niyētoz huan totahtzin;
Cualtzin tlāhuīlli nimitzmacaz.

Song to the Orphanage
Tomorrow...
When I die,
I don't want you to be sad;
Here...
Here I'll return,
Turned into a hummingbird.

Woman...
When you look at the sun,
Smile with joy;
There...
I'll be there with Our Father;
I will send good light to you.

Here's an MP3 with the words from the list above, so you can hear the actual pronunciation (classical & central dialects).

I'm thinking about making some basic lessons in PDF with MP3s, what do you think?
I'll need some help with the PDFs, since I don't know how to create them.  Think

I'm liking it! It's sounds quite cool in my opinion. PDF's are easy enough to make. I don't know about Microsoft Office, but in OpenOffice it's as simple as going File > Export as PDF. If you want to, you can send me the .doc files when you're finished and I'll create the PDF's. But it's not hard Smile

In if you have M$ Office 2003 or earlier you can install PDF Creator, then it's added as a printer, you just get a pdf instead of a sheet of paper.
