Is anyone intereseted in this awesome language? Im not currentlt learning it but it's on my list in the near future. Anyway Amharic is a semtic language spoken in Eithopia. After Arabic, it is the most spoken Semetic language. And uses the Ge'ez writting system. I think Amharic is a very interesting language. Does anyone else have an interest in  learning it or know anything about it?

I know that unlike the rest of Semitic languages which are VSO or SVO, Amharic is SOV. But my knowledge doesn't go anywhere beyond that. =P

Oh Meera, I love you, you have amazing taste in languages!

Let me know when you decide to get into it, I'd definitely love to learn it with you! What really caught my attention with Amharic was the plurals, they're just really interesting. There's the -očč suffix, but there's also duplication of the last radical, which is really really awesome! Semitic languages are the best Smile
