I had an idea for a helpful way to study languages and help others at the same time... if there's already a topic like this please let me know...

Basically, the idea is to take a section of text and save it into a text editor... then you go sentence by sentence and break down each word and conjugation/inflection etc. you feel is necessary by first translating the whole sentence underneath the sentence being translated, then listing each piece one at a time...

Also, for languages like Chinese or Japanese, the respective readings should be given for the words...  Also, words that are constructed from multiple parts should be broken up into parts as well as given as a whole...

for example:
騙す(だます) - to trick, to deceive
取る(とる) - to take, to steal
騙し取る(だましとる) - to take by deception

Once you are finished translating the whole document, save it and submit it on the site for others to read.  It's as simple as that.  Then others will be able to read along with your translation and learn the words as they go along in context with an actual text.

I have one for Japanese of which the above is an excerpt.  When it's completed, I will gladly submit it for others to peruse.  Also, any speakers of the language are welcome to go through and make comments or correct mistakes.

I have finished my first translation... Hopefully it is correct hehe...

I'm currently working on some more translations... I hope to make these into a sort of progressive training exercise where words are only presented once and from there on you're expected to know them as you read new passages...

I have one that's partially translated I will submit later and I am currently working on translating the JLPT guidebook.

I think I would like to try translating some of the book I have on Voro, written in Estonian.
