I hear lots of people find Swedish accents sexy And the fact it's 7th on that list says enough But Australian first? As a good New Zealander, I'm forbidden to have it on my list

I think that the accents vary in their level of "sexiness" according to the gender. I'm debating whether or not I should make two lists. Also, I feel that men's accents are cool or awesome, but I cannot classify them as sexy.

I definitely agree on that! Icelandic sounds awesome, but it's not really sexy when spoken by a woman, for example. Slavic accents sound pretty equally sexy by both sexes.

Well i deffo agree with you peeps on the gender thingy! And yes i fancy Aussi (On girls it´s really cute, with guys it just sounds great ) But i think when you people started this thread maybe it was more as a general thingy? And the reason i was suprised is when i talk to people around the globe most of them barely know where sweden is... But hey maybe it depends on where you talk to the people or? Then again, it´s all about the dialects! Every state or whatnot has their own dialects Myself is from Gothenburg so i have a rather "rough" dialect while the people from Stockholm has a more "Posh" thing going on

I couldn't tell apart regional Swedish dialects if my life depended on it The only difference I'm able to make out is comprehensible / incomprehensible. Personally, I like Russian and Greek accents, and I find most items on the original list annoying rather than attractive, especially Italian, Spanish and French. I guess I just don't have a thing for the melody of Romance languages... maybe apart from Galician.

Noooo!!!! People couldn't butcher the English language more with their pronunciation!!!
I guess I'll explain my hatred: My second cousin who was raised here is extremely hard to understand and has failed English classes so many times because of the horrible pronunciation. She can't even spell the words "pen" or "milk" right because of it. So. I. Hate. That. Accent. It. Makes. Americans. Stupid.

Being able to spell has little to do with the accent, when I speak Westrogothian I say "fisk" /fɪs:k/ (fish) like "fesk" /fɛs:k/, "låda" /lo:da/ (drawer, box) like "lôa" /lœ:a/, and I can still spell them correctly. Before I moved here that was my every-day language and I learnt to spell long before I could even adjust my speech so that it would be easier for people not from the area to understand. And failing English because of the "wrong" native pronunciation?! There's a very special place in Hell for schools that fail students because of that... And yes, southern accents are cute

I don't think that any accent of English is particularly sexy, though I can think of a few that I don't really like much... on the other hand there are certain languages I feel are sexy... I don't really have a particular order for them though and as such I will not be enumerating them...
finnish estonian icelandic japanese korean rammstein's german egyptian hawaiian tongan french
accents I don't like the sound of: any british-based English accent except maybe irish or scottish (that means british, cockney, australian, nze, etc.) southern/central US accent new england accents (new york, new jersey, massachusetts, etc.) cantonese
accents that sound common, ordinary, or normal to me: western US (my accent, the kind used in hollywood, etc.) latin-american (mexico, central and south american accents, puerto rico, cuba, etc.) canadian accents
